  • Earning more for babysitting and let parents enjoy while you spend the evening with the children.

  • Happy-go-lucky is a new initiative that parents and babysitters join each other. Parents can use an online portal to contact and/or book a babysitter from the region. Babysitters can sign up and indicate if they are available or not. 

  • Because it is about children, Happy-go-lucky attaches great importance for good and smooth understanding between parents, the children and babysitting. For example, parents and babysitters can give peer reviews; parents can keep track of their favorite babysitters and check their availability. You will find a charter on the site that points to the responsibilities as a babysitter.

  • Hourly rate, mileage allowances, arrangement of transport from and to babysitter to parents, ... are determined by the babysitter but must be communicated via the platform.

  • The payment goes through the site where there is 10% commission for Happy-go-lucky.

HAPPY-GO-LUCKY is a website that helps parents find part-time babysitters through social connections and students find part-time careers as a babysitter. Parents can book babysitters online - it’s quick, easy and efficient as students who look for part-time jobs.


Research & Survey

To begin the HAPPY-GO-LUCKY design process I would have to research target users which will help me create the Happy-Go-Lucky platform. The research process includes surveys & users feedback are a very important factor. I did the survey by observing the users on a few similar platforms. I discovered that most of the target users are babysitters between 18-25 years (students) and busy families. 

Below references are the websites on a similar platform. I learned that which features or system Happy-Go-Lucky should have.

  • The platform has to divide into two functions for babysitters and for families.

  • Users can fill in postcode for searching babysitters or families in their neighborhoods.

  • Family list or babysitter list

  • Work calendar-booking (for families booking a babysitter)

  • Payment online (for families paying online to Happy-Go-Lucky after booking a babysitter)

  • Parents (25+ years old)

  • Babysitter (15-25 years old)

Persona user

I have created two user persona from the help of online resources and my experience, friends when I worked as an Aupair in Belgium and Netherland. Below are two user target; a babysitter and a family.

Before creating the user journeys, I drew a low-fidelity sketch on paper (I didn’t take the photo) to understand the user journey by using the same service platform (sittercity.com, babysitters.be, urbansitter.com and findababysitter.com.au) as a babysitter and a family. In the wireframe and flowchart have shown how the family (Green Line) search for, contact and book a babysitter and how the babysitter (Yellow Line) search for and contact a family.

LAst words

I have learned a lot from doing this assignment. This was the first time I have done research, created personas and user journeys, user flow and wireframe, there was still a lot of things that I have to improve and learn. 

The professor in my class said that I have to believe in myself & open my mind while research, sketch and create a wireframe. When I go through these steps, I will keep improving my design in every step and at the same time, I will improve my skills.
